Escape from Alcatraz Race Day Tips

Here are a few race day tips for the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon from some of our coaches at Water World Swim:

Coach Pedro Ordenes: PICK A TUNE, a song that keeps you inspired to succeed in your swimming. For many years I used this method myself with music that reminds of me my best experiences in the ocean or in the Bay.

Coach Joseph Siti: Check your goggles the day before your big swim. Re-fit them to your face, clean, and spray with anti-fog.

Coach Jake Glodowski: Leave your lead lined wetsuit at home! Remember to prepack, make a checklist and gear check prior to race day. Sleep the next few days, the tank is already full. Avocado and oatmeal make a wonderful snack!

Coach René Rodriguez: Remember it’s your race. Don’t get distracted by what everyone else is doing, just keep on moving.

Coach George Evangelista: Stay focused and have fun!

Thursday June 2nd, final Alcatraz clinic before the Escape: Practice the last half mile swim finish to St. Francis Beach with optional run transition. Meet at St. Francis beach at 5pm. Click here to REGISTER
